Second time in Bergamo and this time actually enjoying the city. A city break of 4 hours between two flights gave me the opportunity to discover this small city from the north of Italy.
Although I don ‘t like the Bergamo airport, it is really convenient to travel from here in terms of cheap flights and good connections. I must mention that before doing the security check, you can only charge your phone in the bathroom! Any other plugs are just switched off. I just find it unbelivable. But a whole new world reveals after the security check 😂😂😂…like you just stepped into the heaven of the tech addicted.
BGY airport is also good to reach Milan, which is just a few kilometers away – maybe 30. There are so many buses ready to take you there, just outside the terminal.
I also used a bus to reach the city center. Just a 15 minutes ride and I found myself in the front of the main train station with a lovely view of the old city on a street across the railway.
Ten minutes walk to the old city on a street with small parks and romantic view ahead.
This place is amazingly clean and it seems taken out of some romantic story.
The weather was amazing and the clear, blue sky seems to suit Bergamo.
I have also seen some random lovely buildings a bit different than the usual, but still well preserved.
As I was approaching the end of this street, before me I could see the upper city. To reach this side, there is an operational funicular to scure the ride. Unfortunately, I did not have time to do the ride, but this will happen soon, becuase I booked again BGY as connecting airport and this time I am going to have more time to walk around.
To be continued with the upper side of thr city, the funicular ride and more lovely pictures.
